At Created for Care today

  1. Beautiful. 🙂

  2. Thanks for sharing your brokenness and the Helper of that brokenness. As I pray for my family today, I will pray for yours, too, Mary.

I stumbled across your blog because I stumbled across your book in our public library. We had four bio kids and had just begun the foster care process. You responded to a personal email I sent you when we felt the Lord calling us to adopt an older (7 year old) boy which was out of our comfort zone. We obeyed the call and brought a wonderful little boy into our home. Two weeks after his arrival I found myself pregnant with our 6th child. I want to thank you for your openness and honesty in your blog. You encourage me and make me laugh and remind me that sometimes struggle is just part of the call to adopt. I just read The Sane Woman’s Guide to Raising a Large Family for the second time and I laughed and cried as I remembered how much I loved it the first time around. Thank you for your godly example. Thank you for being my mentor across the miles. Thank you for encouraging me to make it another day with a smile- trusting in Christ.

  4. Melanie, I’m so glad to hear that it was a blessing to you.
