Last Mother’s Day Giveaway

Since my blog is so very much geared for mothers, I am thrilled to have so many lovely goodies for you to win in these weeks before Mother’s Day. The winner of the scarf/coffee/muffin book giveaway is commenter #67 Lesley.  Today I have one last Mother’s Day giveaway — a set of two inspirational and interesting books.

Book #1 is Parenting with Scripture: A Topical Guide for Teachable Momentsby Kara Durbin, .  You know those moments when you see your child struggling to make good choices?  My desire always is help my kids understand their struggles and resolve them in a God-honoring way. This lovely little book is a great tool for doing just that.

Chapters are headed with various descriptive words, both positive and negative, such as: bragging, patience, judgment, and mercy.  There’s a handy dandy index in the back of the book to make it easier to find a chapter that will help you teach your child.  Each chapter includes Bible verses, discussion questions and action suggestions to address that character issue.  This is a great little book.

Book #2 Together: Growing Appetites for God by Carrie Ward, is a book written for moms, to help guide them in encouraging their children to love God’s word.  For starters, of course we as moms need to be good examples of people who desire to be in the Word ourselves.   The book goes into many other ways we can encourage our kids to love the Word.

To enter this giveaway, will you comment below and tell me a verse that comes to your mind, or a person whom you seek out to talk to when you are in need of encouragement?  I will pick a winner of this giveaway first thing Monday!
