And the week roared by

Along with doing random garden-finishing projects and keeping people reasonably clean, fed, and groomed, I passed my time this week by:

  • teaching 4 kids to add positive and negative integers, which included a goodly dose of me banging my head on the nearest wall.   I THINK/HOPE/PRAY they’re finally getting it.
  • making space in my closet for Christmas goodie-stashing.  Oh, how I love getting ready for Christmas.
  • signing up for that 2.5 mile Christmas race– yeehaw!  I’m seriously excited.
  • nearly freezing my ears doing a pre-dawn run in 36-degree temps
  • running to the fabric store for some stretchy fabric to make my own ear-warmer/headbands.  I found some adorable fabric that I will show you when I get my headband made, hopefully tomorrow.

However, we’ll see how much time I have for projects because tomorrow I’m also taking the kids to the local hands-on kids museum– we haven’t been there for years. Should be fun!

  1. Did you teach your kiddos the Integer Song? We sing it in my 7th grade math class every year.

To the tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat:

    Same sign add and keep.
    Different sign subtract.
Take the sign of the larger number,
    then it will be exact!

    Hope this helps! 🙂

  2. Just yesterday I was telling my husband I wanted to make some earwarmers for the cooler Fall days. I am interested to see what you come up with!

  3. So excited that you are doing the race! We’ll come cheer you on if we’re in town. Send me a reminder!

  4. So glad you are signed up for the race – will have to have some clever reindeer antler headband or something for the holiday effect. Your week went bye at the exact same speed as ours – I looked at calendar and shazam! it is Friday!
