This looks like an interesting movie: Champions of Faith: Baseball Edition. We also liked ‘Facing the Giants.’ Anyone else have recommendations for inspiring movies? They don’t have to be faith-based, just encouraging and clean. I’d love to hear about some good inspiring family movies. I want to fill up my Netflix queue with some good stuff for the kids while we are in Ethiopia.
(ONE week till our court date. Eeeek!)
I can’t say enough good things about this DVD! Well, actually I said a bunch of good things in this review I wrote for it, but the best way to decide is to actually view it yourself. For those who are interested, I’ve even got a coupon code for a 10% discount offered on my blog!
Rudy!!!! haven’t seen it in awhile. but always love it!!
We really enjoyed, The Greatest Game Ever Played. I do not play golf and I still enjoyed the movie.
Ditto, Sarah
We recently rented Everyone’s Hero from Netflix and we really liked it.
Our family really likes the movie Iron Will.
Hoosiers. Boy did my brothers watch that fifty-eleven times!
Flywheel. (By the same people who made Facing the Giants. It’s obvious from the film quality that it was made on a low budget, but the story . . . . It’s absolutely wonderful.)
Akeelah and the Bee
Joshua
National Treasure
Because of Winn-Dixie
The Journey of Natty Gann
The Rookie
The Greatest Game Ever Played
I’ll stop now. 🙂
Cool – we enjoyed Facing the Giants. We’ll have to check this one out too! =)
Dreamer
Babe
Miracle Worker (old or new versions)
Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey
Cool Runnings
Angels in the Outfield
The Rookie
Tuck Everlasting
The Mighty Ducks
To Kill a Mockingbird
ET
An American Tail
I could go on for days I’m sure, but there are just a few of our family’s favorites.
A few inspiring movies:
Remember the Titans
Because of Winn-Dixie (someone else mentioned, I second it)
My Left Foot
Many of our favorites have already been listed, and we are planning to watch the Greates Game Ever Played tomorrow from Netflix. Glad to hear it got good reviews.
Here are a couple others:
Chestnut
Andre
Road to Avonlea and Tales from Avonlea (series created based upon the book Story Girl by Lucy Maud Montgomery of Anne of Green Gables fame)
I have to amend my suggestion. I was thinking that parts of My Left Foot wouldn’t be appropriate for younger children, so I looked it up. I was surprised that it was actually rated R (I hardly ever like R-rated movies). I think it would be appropriate for teenagers, but parents should probably watch it first and then make the decision about whether or not their child should see it.

Just checking in here again. I had to comment one more time to second Mike’s suggestion. Second Hand Lions is wonderful! If you all have not watch it yet you should!
