Veggie Tales giveaway: The Little House That Stood

I’ve got a fun giveaway for you today.  There’s a new Veggie Tales video being released on March 5th called Veggie Tales: The Little House That Stood.  The movie is a remake of the classic story of the 3 pigs and the big bad wolf. My girls (ages 8 and 10) watched it the other day and really enjoyed it.  My 10 year old enjoyed the narrator’s Scottish accent, and my 8 year old says she liked the way Bob the Tomato built the wood house.  My own favorite part was the Silly Songs.  Such goofy creativity!

Do you have a little one (or a bigger one) who’d like a copy of this movie?  Enter the giveaway by telling me a bit about that person.  For a second entry, share about this contest on Facebook or Twitter using the buttons below, then comment again to tell me where you shared it.  I’ll choose a winner of the contest sometime next week.  And remember, even though the movie won’t release for a few days, you can pre-order The Little House That Stood on Amazon today, and have it next week.

My review policy

  1. Not a day goes by that my verbal children (5 and 3) don’t ask for “Oh Where is My Hairbrush?” They are … well, very insistent, sometimes!

  2. Dianne Andrews says:

My kids would love this. My son (8) would copy the voices, and my daughter (6) would memorize the plot and act it out with her dolls. 🙂

  6. My kids (6, 4, and 2) saw this movie advertised in the window of a Christian book store and immediately expressed their strong desire to watch it, so it would be very much appreciated around here!

My 2 year old has just started getting into Veggie Tales. We only have the Jonah movie, but he loves he–especially the music!

  17. My nephew and his wife just moved up here yesterday. My great-niece (their daughter), Hailee is almost 2 1/2 and has a little brother or sister on the way. I will get to watch her on occasion at my house and just this morning I thought, “Now I have an excuse to buy Veggie Tale’s on DVD!” We had them all on VHS when my girls were little and then donated them to our church and I’ve always wanted to replace them.

I gave up Facebook for Lent so I can’t share, but here’s my one entry!

  18. Melanie says:

My dad just taught my two year old son a bit about this story when they made a ‘house’ together out of a large box we had. He loves to act out the story with grandpa and grandma, especially when grandpa blows (shakes) the house down. Daddy and I love the values that VeggieTales help instil through fun! We only have one in our collection so far, but I am looking forward to collecting more.

  19. My 6-year-old would love this! She didn’t like VeggieTales until she was 5, and now she can’t get enough of them.

  20. Loi Douglas says:

My 4 yr old would love it. I am enjoying hearing her make some parallels between Veggies and the Bible. So cool!

  21. I have 3 sons – 9, 7, and 5! They LOVE Veggie Tales – it’s something they can all enjoy at the same time! I love listening to their giggles as they watch and I love the lessons they learn from the videos.

  23. I shared on FB!!! Here’s the link to my post!!

  24. Amy Mac says:

My 6 year old son would love this. He is so fun, but does not like being the 5th. He wants to be like the bigs. I suspect my other sons will all enjoy this too, but may not admit it.

  25. Bridget says:

I have a six and 8 year old daughters whom love Veggie Tales! My littlest comes home from kindergarten and tells me how much she loves God! Veggie Tales makes even me giggle and of course sing!

  26. Chelsey says:

I have three special ones that LOVE Veggie Tales. My 6 yo (almost 7 *tear) boy is all boy, but loves a good snuggle, and 4 yo girl loves the songs and will make up dances to them, and my 18 mo loves any cartoon 🙂

  27. Chelsey says:

I shared on Facebook too 🙂

  28. My baby is turning 6 in April :-(( He’s the youngest of 8. We have 1 girl and 7 boys. I miss his baby time, but hoping for grandchildren in the next couple of years.

  29. Every single one of my kids from the four year old to the nineteen year old would watch this movie. We love Veggie Tales. It was Veggie Tales that showed me what kind of memory my kids had when they could quote whole sections of the movies… 🙂

  30. We love Veggie Tales around here!

  31. My kids (ages 7, 9, and 11) watch the few Veggie Take movies we have almost every Sunday before church. I just love them!

  32. My granddaughters would love it. They are both funny in their own way and very outgoing.

  33. My little man (4), is so deep for his age. We were talking about this story and his questions were so thought provoking, even for me. I would love to share this video with him.

  34. Suzie Williams says:

My 5 and 7 year old both love Veggie Tales movies. My 5 year old son every now and then will just start singing, “Broccoli… celery…” at the most random times. He’s a big Larry Boy fan too.

  35. My 2 nephews are huge Veggietales fans. We love singing the songs in the car.

  36. I teach preschool and first grade religion at church and we SOOO need updated movies in our program

  37. shared on facebook

  38. My 4 year old really likes Veggie Tales. He was just telling his Grandma about the movie with the tomato that has eyes. And she looked at me like – what is he talking about?

I’m a fan of the silly songs too! “don’t have a belly button” is my favorite!

  39. Julie B. says:

My preschool boys (3,2,2) would love this. Actually the older ones probably would too!

  40. Kim Kauffman says:

My two year old daughter LOVES Veggie Tales. If we don’t win I’ll have to see about getting her this one. Looks cute!

  41. My teenagers love VeggieTales!

For a few years, they didn’t watch them but they’ve rediscovered them now and enjoy the humorous things that flew over their heads when they were little.

  42. I have 5 kids, 1 to 12, and they all love Veggie Tales. Their parents do too 😉

  43. Tessa B says:

My little guy Micah would love it, I’m sure. He will be four later this month. I think his baby brother would probably enjoy it too. 🙂

  44. Both my kids love VeggieTales, but my youngest is head over heels with it! She’s 3, and daily requests Madame Blueberry. I had no idea there was a new one coming out – guess I’m off to see if it’s in our library’s system yet to reserve!

  45. Kind, generous and creative. That is who she is.

  46. Jennifer says:

My girls Phoebe (7), and Keira (6) are big Veggie Tales fans. Rumor weed is their favorite as they both tend to get catch up in the drama of young girl she said, she said. It is a great reminder of how they should behave. I must admit, I enjoy their creative songs and use of parody myself. A far better watch than most of the current options out there.

  47. Actually, our whole family loves VeggieTales. The little ones (6 and 4) love the veggies, but the older ones(9, 10, 12, & 14 and the adults) appreciate the humor that only older minds can catch. We would love some new Veggies!!

  48. My 3 and 5 year olds would love this. We’ve been reading a lot of fairy tales around here lately. My 3 yr old current favorite book is a big book of tales like 3 little pigs, gingerbread man, little red hen, etc by Richard Scary.

  49. My 6-year-old daughter would love this!

  50. My daughter hasn’t seen Veggie Tales yet – this would be a special treat to win this for her. She would love the characters!!
