Best salad gadget

I love adding julienned carrots  to summer salads, and here is the best way I’ve found to produce those lovely delicate slivers.  You can sliver a whole carrot in less than a minute. This gadget works so well that even my 6 and 9 year old daughters are able to julienne carrots for me.

I got mine in a 3-pack like the one shown below– you can click on the picture to see the set on amazon.  The other 2 peelers in this set are awesome too, by the way.  This is my absolute favorite style of peeler– easy, effective and safe even for kids, once you instruct them how to do it carefully.

I love using this style of peeler. When I was a kid we had one in this style with an eye remover at the top. No need for a knife for little ones then….haven’t seen one since.

  2. I love the peelers that you suggested…they are super easy for my 6 and 8 year old…I never peel anything anymore, they are more then willing to help and they have stayed safe too!

  3. I bought one of these about a month ago, and love it.

Will have to get one of these. Finding a kitchen gadget that is worthwhile to purchase is a challenge-there are so many of them to choose from.
Another kitchen gadget for slicing is a mandolin. This is great for slicing potatoes thin for pizzas or potatoe dishes. Found one for $3 a few years ago at an antique store. We use ours every other day for something.
And if you want to give people the best gift ever-look for a coffee press (don’t need to pay more than $18-25). You will love this handy little kitchen gadget that is used all over the European countries. We haven’t used our electric coffee maker since I purchased one of these for my daughter’s high school graduation gift. Love it.

  5. I do agree with you these are the best peelers you can find. I love these, visiting from the kitchen gadget party….
