About adoption

Some of you might remember the adoption conference that I attended back in October– lots of good messages by some really inspirational speakers.  For those of you who wished you could have been there, I wanted to let you know that many of the keynote speeches are now available to download right here, perfect for listening to in the car or when doing the dishes or whatever.  If you’re wondering where to start, I particularly enjoyed Matt Carter, JD Greear, and Karyn Purvis.  Breakout sessions should be available soon.  I’m looking forward to hearing some of the sessions that I was not able to attend.

I also wanted to mention a new book written by Dan Cruver, one of the speakers at Together for Adoption.  It is called Reclaiming Adoption: Missional Living through the Rediscovery of Abba Father.  I was sent an advance copy and found it to be worth reading. You can go to read what others think about it here. You’ll come away from the book with a better appreciation of adoption, both as a work that God did for us, and as a way we can choose to serve God while also experiencing the blessing of being parents.  Good stuff!

  1. Mary,
I’m going to pass this on to a friend who is trying to raise the money she needs to adopt a little one. I am sure it will be an encouragement to her. If you could pray for them, I am sure she would appreciate it. Just pray for Noah’s family….
