Yes!! One of my favorite sauces to toss with stir fried shrimp and some veggies is just equal parts fish sauce, sugar and then sriracha to taste. Sooooo yummy over noodles!

I will have to pick up some sriracha. I have one son that LOVES spicy – the spicier the better. It would be super easy to just add a few drops of this to his dish and make it milder for the two siblings that don’t like spice. I have a question about fish sauce, do you know what type of fish they use? I like the idea of it, but since I am highly allergic to shellfish, I have always shied away from it because I can’t tell what type of fish it’s made from and I can’t seem to get a good answer from the clerk at our local asian market.

Love the recipes! I am making Alecha this weekend for my family in honor of my friend’s new daughter. They are in Addis Ababa right now. So exciting!

  3. Thanks for this post! I just linked to this, because you inspired me to make a new recipe using Sriracha. I had been debating how to make it, then I read this and knew I just HAD to figure it out and try it. I did, and the whole family loved it!
