Frugal grocery shopping

There’s a great article in The Oregonian this week about frugal shopping. Very fun to unexpectedly see a mention of my book at the end of the piece. Speaking of my book, thanks to all of you (54 people so far!) who’ve weighed in and posted a review on amazon. I am especially thrilled to see that couples and singles are also finding the book useful.

  1. Mary, I love reading your book. It has become my guide and I did really well the last 2 weeks using what I had and trying some of your recipes. My mom laughs at me saying “that lady’s book says yadda yadda yadda” all day long. LOL

Just wanted to say “thanks!” I’m glad you got a mention on the Oregonian!

  2. I used mostly your recipes these past few weeks, and while it didn’t seem any cheaper, it sure was tastier!

    • Katy, perhaps you’re one of those people who already figured out the frugal stuff on your own! 🙂 Glad you are enjoying the recipes!

  3. so true…go shopping with a plan and you WILL save money! Reminds me of the days when I just moved out of my parents house and into my own place with my sister — we were on such a tight budget for groceries — we came with a list AND a calculator!

  4. Mary – I was thrilled to see you in our local paper Sunday!

  5. I LOVVVEEEE your book and I am not married, yet. I have 179 days to go! And I dont have children. But I love to save money and thanks to you and some common knowledge, we have made it through this economy on 1 small salary of $26,000 for 6 months. I dont know how I did it, but we did it. And your book makes grocery shopping fun!
