Parents TV: Blueberry Breakfast Strata

Back in October, I was invited to New York to film a cooking segment for (a Comcast TV channel). On the segment I cooked our favorite Christmas breakfast, Blueberry French Toast Strata. That segment is now available to Comcast subscribers, but it’s also here on youtube for people like me who don’t have Comcast in their area. I had a great time doing the segment, although it was also one of the more terrifying 5 minute segments of my life!

Breakfast Strata Recipe (I added blueberries for TV!)

  1. I think you did great! It looked great, and that sweater/apron combo was a winner too. I ordered your book, and I’m really enjoying it! Merry Christmas!

Mary you looked GREAT! Thank you so much for posting this. I was hoping you might – we don’t have TV, so I was afraid I might not get to see it.

    Merry Christmas!

  7. Hey, you’re a pro! Fantastic job! Thanks for posting this. 🙂 Merry, er, Boxing Day.

  8. You looked fabulous – the apron and sweater was just right and you didn’t seem at all nervous – we don’t have cable or satellite (gave it up to sponsor boys in Bangladesh through Compassion) don’t miss it until I hear about one of my favorite bloggers being on a program I can’t see – thank you for posting this.

  9. I so enjoyed watching this clip and getting a glimpse of you, live. Your demeanor and evenness are just what I imagine (at least in this clip!)

I bought your book in Oct after following your blog for about 4 months and getting the sense that your cooking style is a) on the from-scratch side, b) doable for not-great (but learning!) cooks like me. I was right; I use it at least 3 times a week and like the recipes. I’ve made your biscuits alone about 8 times, including last night.

Having just had my 3rd child and hoping to have a large family like yours – hopefully also including adopted children some day – I’m thankful for the chance to “begin well” on the food/cost front in the early years of my family-food-prep front. Thanks for providing something of a 101 class for folks like me in your book.

    Merry Christmas and thanks again!
