Fun links (updated)

Because I am about to fall over from exhaustion, I’m linking instead of writing tonight.
Yummy-looking green bean recipe
Adorable EASY market bags
Marian finally started a blog! You go, Girl!
To my surprise a CNN story quoting me. (Thanks to Melanie and others for the heads up!)
And for any new readers who’ve strolled over from CNN- some of my frugal recipes

Oh, and a question. I’m planning to move my blog to my own domain one of these days, and am looking for a webbie person who can do that for me. I’ll be using the installed wordpress, and would like someone able to do a few tweaks to customize my site. Any recommendations?

  1. I’m on Blogger, so I can’t help there, but I just wanted to say – I just saw you on CNN.com! How cool is that!

  2. Yay! Saw your post on CNN.com! Lovely to see someone I “know” with something positive to say!

  3. You might want to check with the girls at Be Design. They might be able to help?

  5. Hey! Thanks for the link.

Now how about one to this CNN.com I’m learning about here?
I’ll go search it out, but still…

  6. I will admit I found your site on CNN. You are truely an amazing woman with a passion for children. I’m not sure if this helps, but my Aunt has two adopted chinese girls. They are precious!! Her friend does blog templates and I must say…. she does an incredible job making them. Here is her site… http://blogsbydanielle.blogspot.com/
My Aunts’ site is “My Chinese Dumplings”. She does a fantastic job of bringing the heart out in a blog, that’s for sure.
I enjoyed reading about your family and it’s adventures
God bless you and your little ones!

  7. Hi Mary, I’ve been reading your blog since forever and am very inspired by your posts.

I would love to help you install your new WordPress blog on your own domain and help you to tweak it around till it looks exactly as you like.

    Do email me at chengleng.chan @ gmail.com

One reason I would love to help you move to your own domain other than my gratitude for your sharing, I’ve recommended friends who live in China and who have adopted to read your blog. However they can’t access it because blogs that are hosted on http://wordpress.com are blocked by government over there.

    Have a blessed day.

  8. Congrats on being covered on CNN and good luck balancing the budget as pricing continue their climb!

  9. Hi! I was a little horrified at some of the comments from the readers at CNN that criticized the size your family. I’m sure you don’t need affirmation from me, but I wanted to say that I applaud you for opening your home to children who need you. While it disheartens me to see how callous and judgmental others can be, all that pales in comparison to your generous spirit. Looking forward to reading more of your blog.

    Hi there

Congratulations on being featured on CNN.com!
Amazing budget for a family of 9!! I have been in and out of couponing for a few years and look forward to reading tips and recipes.

Since you value frugality, I am sharing a diy link to transfer wordpress

It’s actually a pretty easy transfer

    Best wishes!

I have to agree with Mrs. Fox. I was so angry when I started reading the comments on the CNN article about how “irresponsible” it is to have nine children. As if that is anyone’s business. Then I checked on the blog and saw that it was Owlhaven – a blog I read every day. I have been so impressed by you and your family and enjoy reading your blog. I’m sure you’re ignoring the ignorant people that make negative comments without even bothering to look at your blog.
I live in NW Arkansas – home of the Duggars. I’m sure you’ve heard that they have 17 children and one on the way. Again, I’ve read so many negatives comments on the internet about the. I don’t know them personally, but I believe it is their choice to have as many children as God gives them. They seem to be raising well behaved, educated children and are not costing the public money.
If many people went back to raising children the way you do, our families and our country would be better off!

  12. I saw your story on CNN and wanted to congratulate you on such a wonderful job with your shopping! FYI, I go to http://www.pinchingyourpennies.com and they always have coupon links, shopping lists, etc that help quite a bit with my monthly grocery list. We also live in Nampa and I love the “hunt” for a good deal. Between the Albertsons sale and coupons I was able to get 22 boxes of cereal for $5.50! Woo-hoo!!! I love it.
My husband also does web design. The company is at http://www.phydostyle.com – check it out. I’m sure he’d be able to help you out with your website.

  13. Go Mary!! on the CNN story!!!!

I was wondering why my readership doubled yesterday. LOL!

  14. Wow! Mary! I knew you must have referred to the frugal cooking link because I suddenly got a slew of hits on my granola recipe again. Very fun!

    Congratulations on your CNN fame!

  15. I’d love a shot at helping you – I do custom WP design as well, but there are many talented designers out there.
