The apple basket, day 1

I decided it would be fun to see how long this laundry basket full of apples will last with 10 kids in the house. Here’s what we started with:

{ No Comments }

  1. Oh, I wish I could have one!

  2. They look yummy!!! 3 days? Maybe?

  3. I can’t wait to see the results of this little experiment! 🙂

  4. VERY COOL! I too am excited to see the results! We are picking apples this weekend at my aunt & uncle’s house…maybe we will do the same thing but with 2 adults and a 12 month old! hee hee! We might still have apples in it at Christmas 😉

  5. expectingamiracle says:

    I am guessing 6 days.

  6. 42 hours

  7. Fresh apples, one of the things I love about fall, and apple cider, apple crisp, pumpkin pie……I’m getting hungry now.

  8. 4 days. 5 days TOPS, I say. Does an award go to the child that ate the most?

  9. Mary,
    Well, I can tell you that 25lbs of peaches did not last even a week in this house (with our 10 kids!), when kids were allowed to have one (or more) with any meal and for a snack as desired. They had to eat them outside or at the table, but those were my only rules. 🙂 We got them on a Wednesday night, and they were GONE by Sunday. The lady we got them from told me that there was no way one family could eat 25lbs of peaches before they went bad and really thought I was wasting food by buying them and not planning to can them. Ha! We showed her.

    So, I will vote 5 days.

  10. Let’s see, I’m guessing it’ll take 6 days for your kids to get through that basket of apples. 🙂

    You’ll have to let us know.

  11. What a fun idea.
