Can you say ‘destructive rebuild’?

Yeah. If I’ve been sounding a mite distracted in the past few days, blame it on my laptop. Some glitch in the software has forced me to do a destructive rebuild — twice — in the last day. Destructive, meaning…I had to erase EVERYTHING. Thankfully I keep the bullk of my files on my big ‘puter. But still…inconvenient…irritating….grr…

In other news, this morning I’m going to add a few new ‘classic’ posts to the top of my sidebar. New readers might enjoy reading those posts first, to catch up on some of the highlights of the past year.

And finally, remember you have till noon pacific time today to enter the I AM contest (scroll down). I’m getting a little intimidated at the thought of trying to choose one ‘best’ post for each–these are so darned good, people! Over the next day or two I’ll read through all the entries again and narrow it down to three top finalists in each cateogry. Then on Monday, if I can figure out how to do it, I’m going to set up a poll so you can vote for the winner from the top three in each category. Just a warning, it’s gonna be hard to choose! These entries are great!

  1. Computers can be so frustrating, but how could we blog without them 🙂 ? I am glad you got yours fixed.

I don’t envy your job of trying to whittle down the entries to 3 finalists in each category. I have read many of them and they are all pretty incredible. They hold such wonderful tales.

By the way, congrats on your finalist status in the Share The Love Blog Awards. I am proudly wearing my “I VOTED” sticker … you are one step close to victory 🙂 !

  2. Ooooooo Mary! Go see! Go see what’s happening over at our house! Hee hee!

  3. I have no idea what in the world I would do if I had to get rid of all my files. I’m just not a computer person at all. My hubby does it all for me. So I can imagine your frustration during the whole thing!

  4. can’t wait to read the winners…and your bedroom looks beautiful. with regard to your rail…i cried when i started babyproofing my house – i was very upset at first to having to put up ugly gates all over my house and toilet holders and those black bulky rims around my coffee tables. now – i look back at that meltdown and laugh at myself. i am so blind to babyproofing now.
