That’d be some lunch break

The other evening the four year old and one of the eight year olds were talking about how many kids they might like to have when they grow up.

“I think I’ll have thirteen!” said the four year old.

“Well, you’ll have to talk to your husband about that,” I told her.

The eight year old shook his head. “I wouldn’t like thirteen. That’s too many for me.” He paused for a moment, thinking. “I hope my wife won’t get that many without asking me. Like, when I went out for lunch or something.”

  1. Funny! Nice to know they are still innocent, isn’t it??

  2. And just whom does he plan to marry? LOL! She sounds like a busy girl! :o) They’re so sweet! I’m glad you blogged about it and you can show him in 15 or 20 years when he is engaged.

  3. Love the innocence!

  4. That absolutely cracked me up. I just love the funny little things kids say. So sweet and innocent.

  5. I don’t know your husband, but your kiddos must take after you : ) Because they are always making me laugh….and so are you : ) I love that your 4 yr old wants 13 kids….she’s watching you, momma! : )

  6. LOL…they are so adorable!!!

  7. If only it were that easy to make a family grow! lol Very sweet conversation.

  8. hilarious. if it were only that easy!

  9. Oh that is really really adorable!

  10. Oh my, I honestly laughed out loud when I read this! My son always said he wanted 10 kids. One day my husband (I think trying to discourage him) asked, “but what are you going to do for a job to take care of all those kids?” His response: “I’m going to be a dad, silly.”

  11. Bwah ha ha ha. Oh man. That would be one busy family. But fortunately they have a loving mom to help them learn the ropes of taking care of a big, wonderful family.

  12. Bwahahahahhahahaha

  13. Hoo hoo. Ha ha. And why not have that many?

My daughters both want large families. One of them is so outspoken about it that, at 17, it has happened that a young man, upon meeting her, responded “oh, you’re the one I would never marry”, or something to that effect.

    His loss.

  14. Hilarious! Funny that kids can just get picked up while you’re out to lunch…. 🙂
