My friend Kim of Life in A Shoe has a new website. Go check out Geneva Bible Pages. There you can get a framed, original page of a ‘Geneva’ Bible. Kim is even having a contest– if you mention the contest on your blog, you can be entered into a drawing to win a free, framed page.
My first reaction was, whoa, should people should be taking apart 400 year old Bibles? It turns out the pages are from “breaker books” , books that have become too damaged over the centuries to retain their value as collectors’ items. This sounds like a lovely way to honor these old Bibles.
Also I wanted to mention that today I am blogging over at Advent for Evangelicals. I write about how my husband and I found more time to celebrate with just our own children on Christmas, and I share a recipe that is a Christmas tradition for our family. Stop by and comment, OK?
thanks again for guest blogging Mary! It was a great post! The recipe looks divine!
Happy Advent to you & your family.
Hi there
Thanks for stopping by.
I hope to visit your blog more often, I haven’t had time to delve any further than your most recent posts, but I find some of your posts facinating! certainly different to anything i will probably ever write about!
I LOVE your idea!!
My husband is working Christmas this year… and he leaves the house by 6:30 so its a tad early for stockings, I think!! 🙂
SO we have been discussing ways to change our traditions this year… Christmas Eve Morning might just be the key, since he has that day off!! Thanks for the brilliant idea!! 🙂
Hi Mary,
What a great link! I loved reading the different ideas for the advent wreaths.
