Hereby revealing my laziness

(Conversation this morning between 8 yr old #2 and me.)

Spoken by the boy in tones of shock: “Mommy, WHY are you dressed already?”

Me, indignantly:Β  “Well, itΒ is 9:30!”

“Yeah, but you never get dressed till after breakfast!”

“Maybe I’m turning over a new leaf?” I suggested.

“Oh, like if you decided to go walking every morning before breakfast?”

“Not that new of a leaf.”

  1. Walk before breakfast? Oh, no. No way. Not unless breakfast is at noon. That would work for me.

  2. I’m with you. If my husband didn’t give me a nudge every morning, I would never go for a walk. I used to be so conscientious, but I seem to be turning into a slug in my old age. You will be thrilled to know we went for an actual bike ride this morning (his idea). My legs felt like rubber when we got home, but I did make it up most of the hills!

  3. That is too funny. I never get dressed before 11, unless it is Sunday or my Bible study on Wednesday morning. I can see my kids saying that one day. I do love to walk and try to go in the morning or it gets to hot during the day here in AL. Glad to get some cooler weather soon and maybe I will have more motivation. Glad to have found your blog!

  4. Hi! Great entry.

Say, I am wondering, can you point me in the direction of where you explain the 30 days of nothing? I have read your current blogs and you allude to it but you must have explained it before the 30 days got started or whatever. Give me a link and I will read on! I am so intrigued!

  5. That was going a bit extreme huh? Walking before breakfast.. and in the morning as well. πŸ™‚ Too Funny!

  6. Isn’t is funny to always have the accountability you never wanted =)) This is sooo sweet.

  7. My lovely old dog passed away, so I don’t have that guy slobbering over me every morning until I submit. I can’t seem to motivate myself.

(Can’t get my heart or the hubby to look at another dog yet)

  8. πŸ˜€ – Kids are just too honest sometimes, but keeps us moms on our toes. Thank you for sharing.

  9. If I am all dressed early in the morning my kids will either ask, “who’s coming over” or “where are you going”. I sure can relate! πŸ™‚

  10. I had to get dressed up early in the morning my whole life on ! Now I am savouring the fact that nowbody can push me anymore and when I stopped working I tried to get not dressed up AT ALL when I were not going out. But it didn’t last very long ….

  11. You sound like me. I am doing VERY well to be showered, dressed and made up by 9:30am. I’m a nightowl and would love to be able to stay up till 2am and sleep till at least 10am, but I can’t get away with that with my kids. Funny post.
